Intake and cleaning
Wheat arrives by truck and is graded, weighed and sampled. Separators, destoners and aspirators lift out straw, dust, stones and light seed before a single grain reaches the rolls.
Ittehad Roller Flour Mills, Karachi
We mill wheat into atta, super fine atta and maida for households, tandoors, bakeries and wholesale buyers across the city. Every sack leaves the mill fortified, sealed and stamped with the weight it was packed at.
The mill
Ittehad Flour Mills sits at L-5-C in Block 22 of the F.B. Area, where it has been grinding wheat for Karachi for four decades. The plant is a roller mill, so the grain passes through paired steel rolls, is sifted, purified and reduced in stages until the flour reaches the exact particle size each product calls for.
We do not sell online and we never have. Our sacks reach homes through the wholesale market, the neighbourhood kiryana store and the tandoors that bake through the night. What we control is the part that matters, which is what goes into the bag before it leaves our gate.

From grain to sack
Nothing here is unusual in a modern roller mill. Doing it in the same order, every shift, without shortcuts, is the whole job.
Wheat arrives by truck and is graded, weighed and sampled. Separators, destoners and aspirators lift out straw, dust, stones and light seed before a single grain reaches the rolls.
Clean wheat is dampened and rested in tempering bins so the bran toughens and the inner endosperm softens. This rest is what lets us peel the grain cleanly instead of shattering it.
Break rolls open the grain, purifiers separate the streams by weight and reduction rolls bring the endosperm down to size. Sifters decide what becomes fine atta, super fine atta or maida.
A dosing unit adds the fortification premix, the flour is checked once more, then it is filled, weighed, stitched and stacked for the same day dispatch.
Why buyers stay
Sacks are filled on calibrated scales and stamped when packed. A 50 kg bag holds 50 kg, which is why wholesalers keep reordering.
Tandoors cannot re learn their dough every week. We hold particle size and moisture inside a tight band so today mixes like last month.
Iron, folic acid and zinc go in at the mill under the national fortification programme, at no extra cost to the family buying the bag.
One phone call reaches the mill office, not a call centre. Ask for a sample, a rate or a delivery slot and you speak to someone who knows the plant.
